Luas daerah pengaliran suatu sungai sampai ke pelepasannya 2400 km2. Panjang L = 75 km. Hujan efektif dalam daerah pengaliran adalah sebagai berikut:

Penyelesaian:
Diketahui: A = 2400 km2
                     L = 75 km
                     R0 = 1  (Perubahan Waktu “t” )
Jawab:
Karena L = 75 km > 15 km,
Maka     tg = 0,4 + (0,058 x 75) = 4,75 jam
                tr = 0,75 x tg = 0,75 x 4,75 = 3,56 jam
                Tp = tg + (0,8 tr) = 4,75 + (0,8 . 3,56) = 7,6 jam
                To,3 = α . tg = 2 . 4,75 = 9,5 jam
